Hello friends and fans!
So Ive decided to start a blog..its just another way of keeping people who care up to date. Its been a wild ride being in this band so far. A year ago I was sitting in a jam space with my old band Dying Design not know that the show we played in April of last year would be my last show with them. Then suddenly on 6/6/11 I show up for practice and Im informed that our lead guitarist wasn't coming back...hummmmmm, well you all know that sucked. But in hindsight, I guess its all for the better...Sweet Suicide has only been "around" for about 6-7 months and we are actually out playing (great) shows and getting music recorded, featured on a podcast, offered to be on a call of duty montage, We are part of GoDIY records - which will put our music on a compilation cd and shopped around to record labels and more, I was asked to be interviewed to be part of a "women in metal" book, soon we will be interviewed for a documentary about Local Baltimore Bands and already lost a band member... I never thought things would be happening so fast! Sometimes it feels like Im in the middle of a local music a tornado but Im not complaining. Im really happy with our band now and feel like the 4 of us will be together for a long time. Think about it, Greg and I have a history and we definitely let people know that hes MY bass play and Im HIS singer..lol and Jesse and Mo have been in band together for the past 8 years so there's a serious bond there...Mo and I are in a relationship, so he wont be leaving the band anytime soon while Greg and Jesse are basically the same person they couldn't live without one another...so you see no matter how you work it we all are stuck together.
Will we get another guitarist? Honestly, we don't know. There's lots of reason to add another member for harmonies and just a thicker sound...but theres a little fear because we want to make sure the next person will be with us for a long time. I don't want a revolving 2nd guitarist door. Besides, if your in a band or know someone in a band you know that we spend a lot of time together and really get to know each other - quickly! So it's nice if you let someone in who's going to be cool and friendly and can become an actual friends...plus be an awesome guitarist who totally aboard in the process and able to commit. So we will see what happens in that area over the next few months.
